The Shiga Local SDGs Learners
The Shiga Local SDGs Learners was established by the 8th class of the "Omikanjin Chiiki Saisei Gakuza" at the University of Shiga Prefecture (graduated in 2011).
The "Omikanjin Chiiki Saisei Gakuza" is a course to foster human resources with the qualities to become leaders of regional revitalization in their respective positions in government, business, NPOs, etc., in order to inherit the climate, history, and culture of Omi, Lake Country, and to form a beautiful living environment and recycling-oriented regional society that is in harmony with nature.
Graduate students and working adults study together in the same class for one year.The Shiga Local SDGs Learners is a group of past graduates of the Omikanjin and working adults and students who are interested in community development and social contribution activities.

Purpose of Activities: The Shiga Local SDGs Learners aims to contribute to the inheritance of local climate, history, and culture, and to the creation of sustainable communities where the environment, economy, and society are in an integrated cycle.
